In 1968, the school was started in a small way and formally founded in November, 1970 by Late Dr. (Mrs.) Kamala Ghosh in a rented premise in Jodhpur Park. Mrs. Kamala Ghosh was a doctorate from Sheffield's, U.K. While she was in abroad, a little child lovingly called her Auntie Edith. She named the school Auntie Edith's School in memory of that little girl. It began with a few students and a group of committed teachers. Later it was renamed in memory of her Late husband Mr. Ajit Kumar Ghosh who was the Founder Secretary of the school. A co-educational English Medium Kindergarten and Primary School which grew from strength to strength into a Junior High and then a High School. In 1999, it became a Higher Secondary School. It sent out its first School Final batch in 1977.
The success rate was 100% and no one got below Second Division. In the same year, the School was shifted to its own building in the present premises. It is now a large family comprising more than 2000 students, 55 teachers and 27 non teaching staff members. The bonding between staff and students are very informal and personal excellence is the buzzword.
We aspire to build a chain of schools, the first of which we opened on 14th January, 2014 at Batanagar, Maheshtala.
